The Giants got solid performances from their pitchers both on the hill and at the plate for this opening day win. Stew Walker pitched 6 innings striking out 5 and walking 2 for his first win of the season. Walker also had 2 hits and drove in a run. Ben Amundson went 2 scoreless innings and had a 2-run single of his own. Ian Nelson pitched the ninth and had three hits. The score was 4-3 Giants after the first inning and stayed that way until the 4th when the Giants plated 6, highlighted by a bases-clearing double from Mike Fogelman. Andy Torvik also had 3 hits for the Giants.
