The Astros proved that they were the comeback kids vs. the D-Backs. After two innings of the D-Backs putting on a hitting clinic and the Astros committing 5 errors, the game looked like a D-Back shellacking. But, the Stros persevered and chipped away at the 9-0 tally to a 9-8 one run deficit after six innings. Then in the bottom of the seventh inning, the Stros stringed together 6 hits and plated 6 runs, where the umpires stopped the game after seven innings due to the 3 hr. time limit. The comeback wouldn’t have been possible if it weren’t for the tag team pitching performance of Joshua Roth and Steve Farneth to stave off the aggressive hitting of the D-Backs. Combined over five innings, they collectively allowed one run, five hits and striking out five.
