The fog lifted early at Skyline College for the first of two between the Reds and Giants. The Giants' offense woke early batting around and plating 6 in the first capped by RBI singles from Ari Mukamal and Tim Vogel at the bottom of their order. The Reds came right back with 2 runs of their own in the bottom of the first and cut the Giants' lead to 6-3 in the third after a straight steal of home by their 2B Strong Wang. The Giants got the runs right back after a 2-run single in 4th off the bat of Andy Torvik and took advantage of Reds pitching wildness to extend their lead. Torvik had 3 RBI while Mike Janov caught another solid ballgame and had three hits for the Giants.
