A's 11, at Brewers 5 June 28, 2003, 10:00 AM Game Recap
A's 11, at Brewers 5
After a controversial start where the A's were convinced it was Wood Bat WEEKEND as per the BAMSBL website and the Brewers thought that it was a regular game (the Brewers decided to play with wood as well), the A's pitching shut down the Brewers for 3 innings and started to score in the 4th. Stevie started them off with a 1B and stole his way around the bases, when Jim came up with a big RBI-1B, Cam followed with a 1B and Warren Got a RBI-1B as well. 4 hits, 3 runs and it's 3-0 A's. In the 6th inning getting their first at bats of the game Kyle singled, Flo doubled and Kingsley singled (RBI). Matt Mayoya doubled in another run and Jay doubled in Matt to finish a 2-single, 3-double inning that scored 3 more runs. A's 6-0. In the 7th, after 2 outs were recorded, Mike started things off with a single, Matt Moore then hit a shot (RBI) and JClark got an RBI single for 2 more runs to make it 8-0, A's. The Brewers got a run on a double by Heincke (who went 3-4 on the day, 3 consecutive hits off JClark after a 1st inning popup to the 1st baseman) and a 3B by Wilson (his only hit of the day). The bottom of the A's order kept taking it to the Brewers with a 2 singles (Kyle and Kingsley), Flo reached on an error by the 3Bman, and Matt Mayoya SAC fly to score Kingsley. Kingsley was 2-3 with 2 runs and 2 RBI's. Score A's 11, Brewers 1. The Brewers added 3 in the bottom of the 8th with 3 hits a BB and an error and one more in the 9th on a BB and a 1B. Final score, A's 11 and the Brewers 5. Nice to see the A's score inning after inning with clutch hits strung together. JClark went 9 innings, threw 150 pitches w/ 6 BB's, 2 K's and gave up 9 hits.
