Cubs 19, at REBL Diamondbacks 10
The Cubs and Diamondbacks met up for their second double-header against each other this season. After being swept the first time the D'backs were looking for revenge and came out swinging the bat well, plating two runs in the first. The Cubs came right back in the bottom half of the first and scored three to take the lead.
But the D'backs kept plucking away, scoring another run in the third, one in fourth and another in the sixth. Going into the bottom of the sixth the score stood at 5-4. But in the Cubs' half of the sixth their bats would finally wake up as the D'backs pitcher started to run out of gas. The Cubs' plated five that inning, highlighted by a Javier Barazza three run shot to left center. At the end of six the score now stood at 9-5, Cubs. Each team scored another run in the seventh making the score 10-6 and then in the eighth, Doug Zeman, the Cubs starter ran into some serious trouble trying to make it through the inning.
The D'backs refused to die and roared back with four runs against Zeman highlighted by a bases loaded two out triple by D'backs' number two man Maclean. With the score now tied and a runner at third the Cubs went to their pen and summoned knuckle-baller Hamilton Arendsen who induced an inning ending ground-out. The Cubs' weren't about to let this game slip away and came out blasting in their half of the eighth, plating nine runs highlighted by a Hamilton Arendsen two run blast over the left field fence, his second home-run of the day - his first, a just massive shot that came just an inning before. To cap it off, Arendsen came out in the ninth and shut the D'backs down to secure another Cubs Victory.
