Both teams were determined to start off the day with a win. The A's started with a run in the 2nd when Warren G was walked, stole two bases and scored without an A's hit. The A's 4th stated off with a Matt Moore hit, a Jay Sternberg hit (one of three in the game), a Bryan Rogers walk (one of 4 on the day) and a Warren G hit. With Jim picking up a nice hit later in the inning it was amazing that the Reds held the A's to one run. The game was broken open in the 5th when the A's batted around--JClark 1B, Cameron reached on an error, Stevie, Flo, and Kinglsey walked consecutively with Flo and Kings being RBI walks, Matt Mayoya coming up big again stroked an RBI single followed by Matt Moore's RBI 2B and Jay's 2-RBI single. After a flyout, Warren stroked his 2nd of three RBI singles and the 7th A's run of the inning. In the top of the inning the Reds had scored twice on a hit by Robb, a FC, a BB and an E-8. That closed the scoring for the Reds on the game. After not scoring in the 6th and 7th, the A's came back with 4 more runs in the 8th with singles by Jay S (his 3rd), Warren G (his 3rd), JClark and Cameron. Flo finished with a FC RBI to make it 13-2. The A's ran all game piling up 22 stolen bases in the game. JClark pitched 9 innings with 3 K's and only one BB (which of course did score one of the two unearned runs). Nice win A's!
