A's 14, at Reds 12
A tough, tough game with both teams coming back after being down twice. A great game. The A's were sailing along on the arm of Matt Moore through 4 inings having scored the leadoff batter of the game in the 1st off of an error, a couple SB's, a single by Matt Moore (one of 4 hits including a 2B on the day) and a SAC fly by Bryan Rogers. In the 3rd they added 3. Stevie started the inning with a base hit down the line. Flo followed with a single, Kingsley walked, Matt Mayoya whacked a base knock with the bases loaded, Matt Moore was hit by a pitch (the 1st of three in consecutive at bats) and got the RBI, Jay smacked a 2-RBI 2B. Three runs scored and it was 4-0. The next inning, Jim started off with a BB, JClark earned a free pass, stevie hit another hard hit down the 3rd base line scoring a run and Matt Mayoya clubbed a 2B plating two more A's runners. Score 7-1, A's. In the bottom of the 4th, the Reds scored two on a Dunny BB, Scott's 2B, Thiago BB, Ben's FC and error and Robb's 2B. Score 7-3, A's. In the bottom of the 5th the Reds scored twice on BB by Frank, a 1B by Brendan and two errors. Score 7-5, A's. The A's added a run in the 6th with Jim leading off with a 1B. After JClark 1B,and a FC, Kinsley hit a nice basehit the opposite way to score Jim. Score 8-5, A's. Things fell apart for the A's in the bottom of the 6th with 2 BB's, a HBP, 4 hits including a 3B and 5 runs. When the ump said that Jim's trip to the mound counted as the 2nd trip Matt Moore had to sit and JClark came in to get the final 2 outs on a K and an F7. Score 10-8, Reds. The A's scored 3 in the 7th and 3 more in the 8th with a 2B by Warren G and 1B's by Kings, Gorleigh and Matt Moore doing enough to win the game by two!! Great game. Clark finished the Reds with a 1-2-3 bottom of the 8th and the game was called on time. Two wins for the A's. Two wins for JClark.
