Brewers 15, REBL Black Sox 2 July 19, 2003, 2:00 PM Game Recap
Brewers 15, REBL Black Sox 2
In game 2 at Casa Grande the Brewers go off to an early lead and never looked back. The final score was 15-2 in 8 innings. The Black Sox helped the Brewers along with 8 BBs and 2 HBPs. But Brewers also managed to pound out 15 hits.
The Brewer's attack was led by the hot bat of Adam "Puddin'" Lawlor who went 4-5 with a double, 2 RBIs, 3 runs and 1 SB. Jared "Lance Bass" Childs was 2-3 with 3 runs scored and "Matty" Jones and Manny "Ronald McDonald" Nazzal both went 1-2 with 3 runs scored. The hottest bat of the day, however, belonged to "Angry" Joe Meyer. He went 3-6, with a double, 2 runs, 6 RBIs, and his first HR of the season which was a walk-off (sort-of) Grand Slam in the 8th.
The story of the game, however, was Ryan "Buzz" Brusco's pitching performance. He flirted with a no-hitter through 5-2/3 innings (8-2/3 innings of no-hit ball since deportation from Europe), and had devastating command of his curveball all day. He went the full 8 innings, scattered 6 hits with 2 ERs and 9 Ks.
