Giants 10, A's 9 August 2, 2003, 2:00 PM Game Recap
Giants 10, A's 9
It was more of the same from the A's at the start of game 2. Their first 5 hitters singled and 4 of them scored. Even though the Giants cut the lead in half in the bottom of the 1st, the A's got 4 more in the 2nd helped out by walks and a costly error by the Giants' 3B.
From that point on Giants starter Brendon Frank became virtually unhittable and was outstanding the rest of the way allowing the A's only 3 more hits in his final 6 innings of work.
The Giants got 2 runs in the 4th to make it 8-5. The A's got a run in the 6th to make it 9-5 and it looked as though they would complete the sweep. But Ari Mukamal continued his hot hitting by leading off the 7th with a single. That was the beginning of a 5-run rally culminating with Brendon Frank's game-tying single and him scoring the eventual game-winning run on a passed ball.
