Rockies 7, Mudhens 0
Ace pitcher Dan Parker threw a masterful game, shutting out the hard-hitting Mudhens as the Rockies won their first Bay Area MABL Championship ever (despite having made the playoffs in each of the past four seasons).
Jesse Irwin, Rick Russelle and CJ Martin lead the charge offensively. Jesse and CJ had multiple hits, and "Big Dawg" Russelle hit a two-run blast that clamored off the shed in left field late in the game to cap the scoring.
Parker struck out 16 in route to a complete game shutout. However, the Mudhens hit several balls hard in the game & had the bases loaded in the 9th inning after two walks and a hit batsman. The game ended on a diving catch by left fielder Tony Bellisimo that preserved the shutout & stifled a last inning charge by the Mudhens.
Congratulations to the Mudhens, who came within one game of winning a championship in their very first MABL season.
